Joe Nesser

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I pass on the news that Joe Nesser has passed away. Joe retired from NOPSI/Entergy in 1988 after 38 years of dedicated service and the Association convinced him to take over as Treasurer when he retired. He had been our Treasurer for 26 years when he retired last year. Joe truly loved this Association and everyone involved. He had a passion for growing the membership and was very boisterous at Membership Committee meetings. In addition to his service to our Association he was also a member of the St. Dominick’s Knights of Columbus for over 60 years having served as their Financial Secretary for 47 of those 60 years. Joe leaves behind his beloved wife of 58 years, Maggie, one son, two daughters and two grandsons that he adored. We will miss him greatly.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8th at St. Angela Merici Roman Catholic at 901 Beverly Gardens Drive in Metairie (MAP) from 10:00 a.m. to Noon with Mass beginning at Noon. Maggie said that Joe would have requested Masses in lieu of flowers or donations to St. Angela Merici Church in his memory.

Please keep Maggie, her children and grandchildren in your thoughts and prayers as they prepare to say their final goodbyes next week. Godspeed Joe.
